Fluid Truck

You know how to take the reservation, but you don't know how to hold the reservation.

Mobility for Small Business

Problem

Renting a vehicle is an all around terrible experience, especially for business

Action

Pivot a consumer peer-to-peer sharing platform to a B2B touchless efficient vehicle rental experience.

Impact

Built the product development department from scratch (PM, Design, QA) to

  • Transition the product to B2B within 90 days

  • Support 9,000 vehicles on the platform

  • Growth to $100M+ ARR

  • 4.8 iOS App Store rating / 4.6 Internal CSAT Rating

Pay as You Go

Problem

Small businesses need quick access to vehicles with flexible financing that leasing doesn’t provide

Action

Offer an industry first Affirm-style short-term financing product enabling customers to pay weekly for their vehicle rentals that auto-renew using a credit card at check out.

Impact

  • 80% of customers leveraged this payment method

  • Majority of reservations auto-renewed and became evergreen - perpetual reservations

  • Changed Behavior: By offering flexibility in bookings, the customer benefited by being able to respond to uncertainty in their business, and Fluid benefitted by a higher average rental value.

Fluid Safe Driver Score

Problem

People don’t take as much care of a rental as they do their own car resulting in increased maintenance costs and insurance claims. Additionally, Fluid Truck platform self-insured the vehicles.

Action

Create a proprietary safe driving score algorithm based on telematics data to reduce maintenance and claims and incentivize versus penalize safe driving through a weekly platform-wide safe driver competition where the safest drivers were paid cash.

Additionally, provide scoring and suggested behavior change to managers for coaching opportunities with employees

Impact

  • 20% reduction in maintenance and insurance claims

  • Identification of bad actors

  • Changed Behavior: People drove safer when incentivized

IKEA EV Delivery Vehicle

Electrification

Problem

Last-mile delivery, the final step of transporting goods from a distribution hub to the end consumer—plays a significant role in transportation-related carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions. Projections indicate that by 2030, urban last-mile delivery emissions could increase by over 30% in the top 100 cities worldwide, potentially reaching 25 million tons of CO₂ emitted annually.

Action

Establish an electrification department within Fluid Truck to transition vehicles to zero emission and create a unique zero emission offering in the market including

  • Establish a lab to test charging equipment (EVSE) and electric vehicles

  • Built a nationwide electrical contractor network for construction and installation of charging infrastructure

  • Launch novel electrification offering with IKEA to transition their 3PL carrier infrastructure to zero emission

  • Build functionality to support EVs on the Fluid Truck platform for rent as the first commercial EV rental platform

  • Transitioned a number of marquee customers to zero emission including Lyft, Staples, Sodexo, and Lime

Impact

  • Hundreds of Tons of CO2 offset

  • IKEA electrification model sets the benchmark for zero emission transition in the US

  • Consumers can now take their purchases home in an electric vehicle, thanks to the first-ever consumer storefront EV rental, launched in partnership with IKEA.
