GeoPoll
Global Mobile Research Platform
Problem
Organizations working in developing countries need fast data to make decisions.
Action
We launched a mobile (SMS, App, IVR, Web) based research platform to collect custom data and visualized that data in real-time.
Impact
Led product development efforts to launch and grow the research platform
Grew to 60 countries, 250M users, 175M surveys sent
Launched subsequent products to capture additional business verticals
Validated mobile as a research methodology
Realtime Media Measurement
Problem
Historically, rumors and corruption, rather than data, led to ineffective usage of media dollars for multinational organizations.
Action
In partnership with Kantar, the world's leading research, data, and insight company, we launched a next-day TV, Radio, Print, and Online ratings product using the GeoPoll platform.
Ratings data was visualized through a self-service interface with crosstabs and the latest media metrics (GRP, Reach, Frequency, Ratings, etc.).
The platform integrated with monitoring data to provide suggested media plans based on desired metrics and automatically evaluated media performance.
Impact
Owned product development efforts to launch and grow the research platform.
Grew product to 12 countries, 250M users, 175M surveys sent
Supported hundreds of millions in ad spend
Changed Behavior: Media purchase decisions were based on data, not rumor or incentives.
Food Security Measurement
Problem
A lack of available and up to date food security data means that analysts often rely on proxy measures for different types of food security, which may under-estimate actual need. Source
Action
In partnership with World Food Programme, we adapted a methodology to track and monitor food insecurity in Sub-Saharan Africa using SMS and visualizing data using the GeoPoll platform.
Impact
Owned product development efforts to launch and grow the research platform.
Data informed WFP’s on-the-ground efforts
Introduced new visualization methods
Changed Behavior: Validated mobile as a research methodology
